The world of sound design was introduced to me at a time when I was trying to figure myself out, and it felt right to walk this path. My studies and background in music production had shaped my creative outlook and skillset over time, which naturally led to the question of “how are sounds for film and videogames made?”. I always had an interest in pop-culture and gaming, being drawn to the escapism of it. It came a time to combine this with my refined ears from countless DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) hours to make a future for myself.
The switch to “I can really do this” came when I really understood synths. The knowledge and ability to utilise the extensiveness of wavetables, routing, and modulation was a major confidence boost for me in creating sound effects. This is when I made the dive into game audio, looking deeper into the skills and workflows that help with sound designing an interactive experience. I am detail-orientated, focused on creating audio that carries emotional-weight and a timbre that is authentic to the visuals. My approach to sound design involves openness to collaboration, self-reflection, and a deep understanding of the game’s acoustic landscape.
